ABOUT THIS PROJECT

In my own time, I like to photograph dogs being... well... dogs! I like to catch the character of each one, taking in the environment. Nothing clever, most are taken on my old iPhone, which I find easier. It's all about the moment for me, rather than clever tricks.

In the past year, I have carried out humanitarian missions in Ukraine several times. Whilst there, I took many photos, which also included some of the dogs out there. I found the situation deeply upsetting for the animals caught up in this conflict; many have been abandoned by their owners, fleeing the war. There are huge challenges for these dogs, but there are many shelters set up to care for the lucky ones. I met numerous individuals serving on the frontline who had scooped up cats, kittens & dogs, giving them a lifeline.
